Did you know that some famous artists used glow-in-the-dark paint in their paintings to prove authenticity in case people tried to copy their art work? Your child will learn about how science and art go together like peanut butter and jelly!

Mad Machines/ Leaping Levers

Stunt Planes and Gliders
Learn about the four forces that affect flight as you build your own paper airplanes!

What is an animal? Children explore the animal kingdom and learn about the habitats, adaptations and life cycles of their favorite creatures! They experiment with animal calls and camouflage, and create their own Animal Tracks to take home!

Become a bug for a day! Enter the bug world and learn all about the habitats of some of our smallest creatures!
Step into some healthy habits! Put together a food pie and lay out a perfectly proportional meal! Burn calories and shake up emulsion! Clip on your step-o-meter and walk on!
Life in the Sea
The ocean holds many mysteries! Children learn about its diverse life forms- from plankton to whales! They discover underwater habitats and learn how humans can help protect ocean life! The Anaglyph Sea Puzzle lets children dive in and take the ocean home!
Students will be introduced to the virtual laboratory we call a kitchen, and learn the science behind food choices!
Investigate the powers and daily uses of magnets. Explore magnetic fields and their relative strengths and properties. Take home your own floating magnet set.
We’ll investigate the powerful processes that shape our planet and form mountains, oceans and all the topography in between!
Secret Agent Lab (SAL)
Step into the shoes of a detective—uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis. Students will create, collect, and analyze evidence and discover what skills are necessary when arriving at the scene of the crime. Whodunit? Students will find out by using their Fingerprint Finder to place and identify UV prints.
Are detectives really scientists in disguise? Discover what it takes to be a sleuth in the lab by testing common types of evidence that are collected at crime scenes. Using powers of observations and the Inspecti-kit, our young scientists will have all they need to get started on!
Look out 007—the Mad Science Spy Academy is in session! From edible messages
and decoding clues, students will have the opportunity to check out the skills that
spies have in this hands-on journey into the world of espionage. Students will make
and take home their own Secret Code Breaker to communicate stealthily at home,
like real spies.
Sleuths on the Scene
Suspects, schematics, and sleuths... oh my! Students hone their observation skills by learning about different blood types and finger prints. Students continue their sleuthing at home using their Scene Solver take home to reconstruct the scene of a crime with family and friends.
Want to know who did it? Test your skills by solving a crime that took place at the Mad Science laboratories! And learn how the pros do it through careful observation and techniques to handle evidence properly. Using their Whodunit Kit take home, students can practice the skills of recall and observation—they are provided with character descriptions to reconstruct the face of the suspect! Provided answer keys give them feedback on their skills.
Figure out the science of forensics in this hands-on look at crime scenes. Evidence
collection and puzzle making will lead them to understand why forensic scientists
like to understand the complete picture before they make decisions. Students will
use their Case Stamper take home to probe the science of tracking—they will stamp
out a scenario on a case card according to a pre-determined story.
Got clues? Analyze clues and get hot on the trail of a culprit with the Crime
Lab program. With the Spynoculars take home, students safely observe clues
from afar. The build-your-own binoculars are used to test the limits of magnified
observation and are a diverting way to use observational skills.
Science of Security
Unlock your spy skill as we tackle the toughest security breaches. We will “pick open” locks, sneak past a whisper-meter, and create our own security system. Teams will attempt to crack through each other’s security systems and track a treasure.
Dry Ice Capades
Explore the 3 states of matter. Turn water into ice in 30 seconds, build a giant bubbling potion, carbonate plain drinking water and create the same awesome smoke illusions used in the movies!
Ooze into a gooey hour of sliming around! Create slime using the Mad Science recipe, and then enter the Slime Olympics! Take home your own concoction of Mad Science Slime!
Use your hands as a real Mad Scientist in this whirlwind class on how a lab works! Learn to manipulate laboratory equipment at your personal lab bench, and take home your very own Graduated Gear to continue your research!
